![]() Tomorrow is Earth Day and most of us really don’t know what Earth Day is so I figured I would educate you on Earth Day the day before so that you could impress your children and coworkers tomorrow. Earth day is a day set aside to show appreciation to our Earth and make awareness to all of the issues that threaten it. U.S Senator Gaylor Nelson proposed a bill in 1970 stating that April 22nd be recognized as a national day to celebrate the earth. However some people celebrate Earth Day on the first day of Spring which is the vernal equinox which occurs on or around March 21st. It is celebrated in over 175 countries and is coordinated by the non profit Earth Day Network. The passage of the Clean Air Act, The Clean Water Act and the Endangered Species Act are considered to be products associated with the Earth Day formation in 1970 Some areas even dedicate the whole week during April 22nd to celebrate the Earth. So to sum it up the basis of Earth Day is to REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE, REPLENISH & RESTORE. Beware of the chemicals you use and how you use and dispose of them. We only have one Earth.

![]() Spring is here and so is the green dust. It is coating our cars, driveways, BBQ pits and pools. It is so prevalent that there is even a Facebook page dedicated to it titled Rinsing off my car every morning because of the freakin’ pollen! http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=111333858892945 When it rains it’s a good thing because it at least knocks the pollen off of the trees causing less of it to fly freely in the air. However, it does not stop the attack of the green dust all together. Although it may seem nice, cool and breezy outside now is not the time to open your windows to air your home out. If you do this you will encounter an attack of the green dust all over your possessions in turn causing a major allergy attack. Change your filters regularly and blow out your garage and your front & back door areas so that you don’t track any extra green dust in your home. Remove your shoes before walking on the floors in your home. If you don’t practice this you will just spread the green dust into the fibers of your carpets eventually causing a buildup of allergens in your home.
